Team building questions Frequently asked questions

The questions HR, L&D and team leaders ask most when planning a team programme.

How is this different from a normal fun day?

A fun day is designed to entertain. Our programmes are designed around something your team needs to get better at, such as communication, trust or planning under pressure. They are still enjoyable, but every challenge is framed around your goal, ends with a facilitated debrief, and is followed by a short written summary.

What happens in the planning call?

Before we propose anything, Mark spends about fifteen minutes with you, or you fill in our team brief form. We ask about your team, what is working, what is not, and what you would like people to do differently afterwards. That shapes which programme we recommend.

What happens in the debrief?

At the end of each challenge our facilitator leads a conversation that links what happened to how your team works: who led, how information moved, what got in the way. For very large groups we keep it short and lively. For smaller teams we go deeper.

What is in the written summary?

The goal we agreed, what we saw on the day, what came up in the debrief and a few practical suggestions for following up. We email it after the event, and it makes reporting back easy.

How is pricing worked out?

Each programme is priced for your group, not per head. Your proposal shows one all-inclusive figure based on your numbers, the programme, the length of the day and the location.

How many people can you work with?

Most programmes work for 10 to 200 people. The Leadership Programme works best for 10 to 60. The Conference Programme scales to around 1,000. For large groups we add facilitators so every team gets proper attention.

Where do you run programmes?

Anywhere in South Africa. We are based in Moreleta Park, Pretoria, and regularly work across Gauteng and at lodges and conference venues around the country. We bring all the equipment with us, and we can help you find a venue.

Do you offer CSI team building?

Yes. In the Give-Back Programme your teams earn bicycle parts, build the bikes and hand them to children from a charity you choose, or one we help you find near your venue.

Does Mark give motivational talks?

Yes. Mark speaks at conferences, kick-offs, strategy days and year-end functions, and a talk can open any of our programmes. See Motivational talks.

What if the weather is bad?

The Communication, New Team, Give-Back and Conference programmes can all run indoors. We plan a weather backup for every outdoor day.

Can we combine programmes?

Yes. Many clients combine a programme with an adventure activity, or run the Conference Programme for everyone and the Leadership Programme for the management team. We design the mix around your goals.
